Meet Corey Cogdell, an American trapshooter who won the bronze medal in the women’s trap shooting event in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. See photos, video and her biography here.
Corey was the only one in the finals to hit all her last five trap targets and thus gained the bronze by beating three others in a tie. The gold went to Satu Makela-Nummela of Finland and Zuzana Stefecekova of Slovakia took the silver.
“I didn’t even expect to be at these Olympic games,” Cogdell said.
As a biography, Corey Cogdell was born on September 2, 1986 in Palmer, Alaska so her age is 21. She began shooting at the age of 3 but only took it seriously in 2006. She was the bronze medalist at the 2007 Pan-Am games.
Corey made it to the national team in 2006 after being in the third place for the women’s open trap event and has since been living in the Olympic training center as a resident athlete.
