Lauren Wenger To Miss Water Polo Final

Meet Lauren Wenger, US water polo player who powered her team to the finals in the Beijing Olympics. Unfortunately, Lauren will not be able to compete in the gold medal game because of injury. See photos and her biography here.

Lauren broke her right hand during the semi-final game with Hungary. She will have to miss the final against Netherlands on Thursday.

“She does a lot of things for us, especially offensively,” U.S. coach Guy Baker said. “We’ve got time to sit down and figure it out. We’ve got a couple days to kind of make some adjustments and do what we’re going to need to do.”

Lauren Wenger was born on March 11, 1984 in Long Beach, California so her age is 24. She attended the University of Southern California and plays in the position of two-meter defender. Her measurements are

After entering the national team in 2005, Lauren has been a strong force and helped her team to win the 2006 FINA World League and the 2007 World Championships.

It will be a sad moment for her to miss the last game, having worked so hard for this day. After the initial diagnosis, she was taken to a hospital for further tests.
