Brett Favre is no longer a Packer. The 38-year-old has been traded to the New York Jets. See more photos and video of Brett Favre below.

FOXSports.com was the first to report the trade Wednesday night. For the trade, the Packers get a fourth round pick that could turn into a first-rounder, but that depends on how the Jets do in the upcoming season.

Soon after the trade was announced, a Jets No. 4 jersey was available for sale on the New York Jets website. The acquisition of Favre is the answer to the Jets’ marketing dream, and it couldn’t have happened at a better time. It’s been 40 years since their last Super Bowl championship, when Broadway Joe Namath was at the helm as quarterback.

They’ve always taken a back seat to the Giants as well, even more so when Eli Manning took his team to the Super Bowl and crushed Tom Brady’s hopes of having the perfect season.

The Jets will likely cut or trade veteran QB Chad Pennington today, who has been with the franchise since 2000.
