**UPDATE 7/27/08 – Congratulations to Helen for winning her third Evian Masters Sunday. She previously won the title in 1994 and 1998. The 43-year-old joked about winning the event:
“It’s still one for the bags. Perhaps we have a little more experience, perhaps. But when you have a game, you have a common interest. Age doesn’t seem to be that big of a deal.”
Helen Alfredsson makes the news today as the 43-year-old Swede led at the U.S. Women’s Open this afternoon, only to fall to fourth place in a tie with Inbee Park. The veteran ended the day 7-under 212.
