Alla Kudryavtseva Upsets Maria Sharapova at Wimbledon

Alla Kudryavtseva, the 154th ranked player in the world, shocked everyone by beating third seed Maria Sharapova in the second round at Wimbledon today. See photos, video and a biography of Alla below.

Alla Kudryavtseva beat Sharapova in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, marking the earliest exit for Sharapova in a Grand Slam since the 2003 U.S. Open, when she lost to Emilie Loit in the second round.

Kudryavtseva has never won a WTA Tour event and this was only her 10th appearance at a Grand Slam event.

As a biography, Alla Kudryavtseva was born on November 3, 1987 in Moscow. She stands 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 154 pounds. She is 20 years old. She started playing tennis when she was 7 years old. Her father, Alexander, is a former world champion wrestler. She turned pro in 2005.

She competed in the US Open and Wimbledon in 2007, only to be beaten in the 1st round. Earlier this year she competed in the Australian Open and the French Open, but again, was out in the 1st round.

Alla currently lives in Miami, Florida.
