Jessica Simpson: ‘Dear Doctor’ Cover Girl

Over the years Jessica Simpson has graced the covers of several fashion magazines, but becoming the Dear Doctor: Dentistry & Oral Health cover girl certainly puts a smile on her face (and no, it has nothing to do with on again/off again boyfriend Tony Romo). See photos and video of Jessica below.

Jessica, who is an Ambassador for Operation Smile, spoke with the magazine about raising awareness of children who are born with facial deformities. Back in October of 2005, Jessica and a group of Operation Smile volunteers traveled to Nakuru, Kenya for a two week medical mission to help treat 250 children. 1 1/2 year old Boke, who made a 12 hour trip to the clinic, made an impression on Jess, and since then she has been committed to Operation Smile and what it stands for.

She, along with several other celebrities including Molly Sims, Billy Bush and Roma Downey, act as “Smile Ambassadors” to raise awareness for Operation Smile.

Hmmm. Isn’t it a little cruel for Jessica to be part of this charity? She’ll be visiting all these kids born with horrific deformities and they’ll be like, “Will we be as pretty as you after surgery?” Jessica: “Oh, God, no. But you might look somewhat normal. Well, relatively.”

    The kids weep.

Jessica: “Don’t cry now. Someone brought free DVDs of DUKES OF HAZARD!”

    The kids cry harder.

Just kidding, Jessica. I guess it is cool you’re doing this, especially since it likely hits close to home what with your sister having had a horrible deformity corrected with surgery.
