Meet Hazel Mae, hottie sportscaster for NESN. See photos, video and a biography of Hazel below.
Unfortunately for many New Englanders, they will no longer get to see Hazel Mae grace the “SportsDesk” on NESN, as it was announced by the network that she is leaving. Hazel said in a statement:
“I’ve decided now was the right time to make this difficult decision to leave. It has been both a personal and professional privilege to be a part of NESN . . . During my time with the network, I’ve had more than a few once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, including the chance to cover two World Series and a Super Bowl.”
No word yet on where Hazel is headed to next.
As a biography, Hazel Mae was born on April 7, 1970 in the Philippines. This Filipina beauty grew up in Toronto with her family and is the oldest of five siblings. While in high school, she played tennis, softball, volleyball and basketball. She got her start in broadcasting by hosting a sports update show on the York University campus. From there she became the anchor of “Sportsnetnews” on Rogers Sportsnet (Canada’s sports network). In addition to her A.M. anchor duties, she hosted “Jzone”, which was a weekly show about Major League Baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays.
