Wu Minxia is Chinese Olympic Diver

Meet Wu Minxia. She is a Chinese Olympic Diver who will be competing for China at the Beijing Olympics. Read her biography and see photos and a video of her below.

Wu Minxia won the gold for China today at the FINA Diving World Series 2008 in Nanjing, China. She scored a combined 377.50.

Wu Minxia (�?��?霞) was born on November 10, 1985 in Shanghai, China. She is 22-years-old. She is a is an Olympic diver for the People’s Republic of China. She started diving in 1991 at the 2nd Shanghai Diving School and joined the national team in 1998. Her coach is Liu Henglin.

At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Wu won a gold medal in the 3 meter women’s synchronized springboard with her partner Guo Jingjing. She also won a silver medal in the 3 meter women’s synchronized springboard placing second behind Guo. In 2004 she won gold at the World Cup in the 3 meter synchronized springboard. In 2003 she won gold at the FINA Diving Grand Prix in Australia and at the FINA Diving Grand Prix in China. She won gold at both events in the 3 meter synchronized springboard. She also won silver in the 3 meter single springboard in China. She won gold in the 3 meter synchronized springboard at the 2003 World Championships.

Wu is a university student and enjoys music and reading.
