Lynda Barnes is 2008 United States Bowling Congress Queens Champion

Meet Lynda Barnes who won the biggest and most prestigious title in women’s bowling. She won her second United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Queens title. Read her biography and see photos and a video of her below.

Lynda Barnes and her husband Chris Barnes are both champion bowlers. Chris Barnes is the PBA Player of the Year and today Lynda Barnes delivered three perfect strikes in the final frame of the final round to win the 2008 USBC Queens. She played against Amy Stolz and won with a score of 215-195. Barnes also won the Queens in 1998.

“When I looked up there and knew I needed all three strikes just to give me a chance, I knew I’d already done it a thousand times in my head and I just needed to get out of my own way.”

Lynda Barnes was born on October 7, 1967 and her hometown is Double Oak, Texas. She is one of the world’s leading female Ten-pin bowlers. Barnes is a member of Team USA and has won many awards in her bowling career. She was named 2005 World Bowling Writers Bowler of the Year, silver and bronze medals in the 2005 Women’s World Championships, three gold medals in the 2005 American Zone Championships among many others.

She is the mother of five-year-old twins, Ryan and Troy.
