Jennie Finch is on her way to her second Olympics as pitcher for the US. She is hoping for her second gold medal in a row. This time around, things are a little more hectic, as she now totes around 2-year-old son Ace with her as Team USA continues their tour in preparation for the Beijing Olympics this summer.
As a biography, Jennie Finch was born on September 3, 1980 in La Mirada, California. She started playing softball at the age of five and began pitching at 8 years old. She attended La Mirada High School and was very involved in athletics while there, lettering in softball four times, twice in basketball and volleyball.
Upon graduation, Jennie went on to the University of Arizona and was pitcher for the softball team. She is a three time All-American and a two time winner of the Honda Award, winning in 2001 and 2002. The University of Arizona retired Jennie’s number, #27, on May 9, 2003.
In 2004, Jennie helped Team USA win a gold medal at the Athens Olympic Games. She had a 2-0 record, striking out 13 batters in eight innings.
On January 15, 2005, Jennie married Minnesota Twins pitcher Casey Daigle. Their son, Ace, was born on May 4, 2006.
Most recently, Jennie appeared on the celebrity edition of The Apprentice.
