Sexy Women in Sports

Once upon a time when you thought about women in the sports world, sexy wasn’t the first word that popped into your head. Let’s face it, Billy Jean King, Nancy Lopez, and Patty Moise may be winners, but they ain’t exactly beauty queens. I would even be willing to bet that no issues of Sports Illustrated featuring any of the three gals mentioned before have been found under a mattress, or have had their pages mysteriously stuck together.

Thanks to the miracle of modern marketing, image is everything now, and a hot blond that can swing a tennis racket is worth her weight in gold. To make things even better, the television programming people have figured out that as long as the skirts get shorter and the tops get tighter, their ratings will continue to soar. Our desire to watch two young hard bodies running across the tennis court a few hundred times will trump our general dislike for the sport itself every time. God bless America.
