Sarah Jones: Cheerleader Sex Scandal

Sarah Jones’ cheerleader days are over, at least for now. The former Cincinnati Ben-Gals cheerleading captain is being accused of sexual abuse and her mother is accused of trying to cover it up. Such a scandal!

These are the types of scandals that really get you going. A pretty cheerleader described as a “smart Christian” accused of having sex with one of her 16 year old high school students. Sound a bit confusing? Let’s learn a bit more about the Sarah Jones cheerleader scandal, shall we?

As for a biography, we know that Jones is a 26-year-old Kentucky teacher who worked at Dixie Heights High School. She is also a former Bengals cheerleader and captain. She is being accused of a crazy crime – having sex with a 16-year-old high school football player. She was arrested for “sexually abusing a student and unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual activities. “ She allegedly had sex with the student four to five times at her apartment and exchanged inappropriate text messages with him.

It doesn’t end there. To add suspicion to the allegations, her mother Cheryl Jones, a middle school principal, is also accused of tampering with evidence in connection to the allegations. Things are not looking good for Sarah, if you ask me.

The only thing she does having going for her is that the alleged victim’s family supports her, and other Bengal cheerleaders have spoken out on her behalf. Lindsay Vaughn said the allegations are “terribly shocking…She doesn’t drink — doesn’t party — probably totally opposite of what you think of when you think of an NFL glamorous, hot cheerleader.” She said Jones is active with community projects and traveled to Iraq last year to entertain the troops.

But this smart Christian cheerleader has seen negative press prior to this incident. In 2009 she sued the infamous thedirty.com for posting unflattering pictures of her along with allegations that she’d “had sex with Bengals players and had two sexually transmitted diseases.” She did come away with $11 million in compensatory and punitive damages. Ouch. I can’t find Sarah’s thedirty.com pictures, but we do have some pictures below. Just click each to enlarge. You can also see some of her bikini pictures here.

Charles T. Lester Jr., the lawyer for both Sarah and Cheryl Jones, issued the following statement,

“Sarah has maintained her innocence. The indictment of her mother is completely baseless. Cheryl Jones did not tamper with evidence.”
