Kate Middleton’s younger sister Pippa will take part in the cross-country ski race Vasaloppet on Sunday. Younger brother James will be participating in the event as well.
The Vasaloppet is held in Sweden every year, and the race is 56 miles long, with the first race held back in 1922. Pippa and her brother James will be racing for charity. Pippa wrote a note on the justgiving.com website that read:
“My brother and I are raising money for Magic Breakfast, a small registered charity that fights child hunger through breakfast clubs and delivering free breakfasts (bagels, cereal, juice and porridge) to thousands of state primary school children in the UK particularly our inner cities.”
So far £5,637.00 has been donated to their cause, which is roughly around $7500.00.
Per Strid, spokesman for the race, was of course excited that Pippa and James will be participating in the event.
“It is now confirmed. We have been contacted by a person close to them who has asked us if we could arrange this. It’s really fantastic that such well known people will take part; it shows that our arrangements attract not only the most renowned skiers in the world but also some of the most famous personalities in the world as well!”
Pippa, who is regularly photographed by paparazzi while jogging, is quite fit and will probably have no problem tackling the 56 mile race. Well, at least that’s my opinion anyway. I don’t think I could even do a mile, let alone 56! Ha! I would guess that her, err, behind will benefit quite nicely from all those hours on the skis, don’t you think? Not that it needs any improvement, right?
I’m curious if famous sister Kate will be on hand to cheer her siblings on. You know, her husband is on a military mission right now, so she’s kinda free. Just sayin’.
Best of luck to you Pippa and James!!
