I love NBA All-Star weekend. It’s chock full of some fun events. Things kicked off on Friday with the All-Star Celebrity Game, with the East beating the West 86-54. Later that night it was Team Chuck vs Team Shaq in the Rising Stars Challenge as Charles Barkley and his squad beat Shaquille O’Neal’s team 146-133. On Saturday, one of my favorite events of All-Star weekend is the Shooting Stars competition. Last night Team New York (Allan Houston, Cappie Pondexter and Landry Fields) reigned victorious with their first Shooting Stars title. The Skills Challenge followed, with San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker showing everyone he’s got mad skills, beating out Deron Williams, Rajon Rondo and John Wall. The Three-Point Contest was won by Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love, who overcame two tiebreakers for the win.

Perhaps the biggest event beside the All-Star Game itself is the Slam Dunk contest. Utah’s Jeremy Evans beat out Minnesota Timberwolves’ Derrick Williams, Indiana Pacers’ Paul George and Houston Rockets’ Chase Budinger. Evans’ big dunk of the night saw the Human Pogo Stick jump over a guy seated in a chair and dunked two basketballs. Check out a highlights video of the slams last night.

And for the big event of the weekend, the NBA All-Star Game. You can catch it tonight at 7:00 pm EST on TNT. Looks like I’ll be switching back and forth between the game and the Oscars – don’t want to miss anything as it happens!
