When celebrities announce they’re getting divorced, oftentimes we hear that the split was amicable, they are friends, will continue to co-parent their children, yada yada yada. In the Deion and Pilar Sanders’ divorce case, it seemingly started out that way, but now, not so much. It’s gettin’ down and dirty, folks!
Deion and Pilar Sanders reportedly met on the set of LL Cool J’s show, In The House. They would soon marry and did so in 1999 in Nassau, Bahamas. They have three children together, Shiloh, Shedeur and Shelomi. As a family, they starred in their own reality show, Deion and Pilar: Primetime Love in 2008. The Prosper, Texas home in which the couple shared with their kids (and where their reality show was filmed) will no longer house the two, as it was reported earlier that even though they were getting divorced, the 30,000 square foot home was supposedly big enough to each do their own thing and not run into each other. Oh please. Like that was even going to work.
It wasn’t long before TMZ reported that Deion was moving out of the home and Pilar was on the lookout for a house of her own. The couple’s pre-nup reveals that Deion would provide Pilar with a home at half the value of the one she currently lives in. Hmm. That would be at about $10.5 million, since their mansion is currently listed at $21 million. Cha ching!
With Deion filing for divorce in December, Pilar filed as well and bashed the former NFL star in court docs obtained by TMZ. She basically accuses him of being an “adulterer” throughout their marriage, a “narcissist” and “physical, mental and emotional abuse of her and their children”.
Deion was none too happy with those claims and now is striking back at his estranged wife, claiming that her accusations are simply a way of attempting to extort more money from him.
See, what did I tell you? It’s gettin’ ugly! Stay tuned, folks. This isn’t over by a long shot.
