Happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here, aren’t you excited? Guess how old Shawn Johnson, Junior Seau and Dan Reeves are turning today? Find out below!
Happy Birthday, Shawn Johnson! The Olympic gymnast turns 20 years old today. It’s hard to imagine that she’s already 20! It seems like just yesterday we saw her win the gold medal on the balance beam at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, when she was 16 years old. Not only did she win a gold medal, but she took home the silver in the individual all-around event and floor exercise competition. Team USA won the silver medal as well. As far as the 2012 Olympics, we’re all crossing our fingers that she’ll make the team and compete once again for the U.S. In 2010, while skiing, she blew out her knee and had surgery. She’s making a comeback though, and at last year’s Pan American Games, took home the silver on the uneven bars. The former Dancing With The Stars winner from Season 8 took to her Twitter page and said, “I’m 20?! Geez not sure how I feel about leaving the teens behind! But HEY new chapter… I love it! Thanks for all the well wishes everyone!”. New chapter, indeed. Let’s hope the 2012 London Olympics are a part of it!
Happy Birthday to Junior Seau, who turns 43 years old today! Last year the longtime Chargers player was inducted into the San Diego Chargers Hall of Fame. He attended USC and was drafted by the Chargers in 1990, the fifth overall pick. He remained with the team until 2003, when he was traded to the Miami Dolphins. He was plagued by injuries in 2004 and 2005 and ultimately was let go by the Dolphins in 2006. He would retire for four days before signing with the New England Patriots in August of 2006. Yet another injury sidelined him and would not play for the Pats until May of 2007. He stayed with the team until 2009.
Happy Birthday, Dan Reeves! The former Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons coach is 67 years old today. After a career as an NFL player and coach, Reeves worked in the broadcast booth covering NFL games.
