The Lamar Odom trade is done. He is being sent to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for a first round draft pick in 2012. How is his wife Khloe Kardashian taking the news?
The done deal comes on the heels of Thursday’s proposed trade of sending Odom and Pau Gasol to New Orleans for Chris Paul. Gasol would then head to Houston, in exchange for Kevin Martin, Goran Dragic and Luis Scola and a first round draft pick in 2012. The trade was rejected by the NBA and Odom was none too pleased that he was part of that deal, showing up late to Lakers practice Thursday. He would only speak to GM Mitch Kupchak, and according to a source close to the situation, it was then that he told Kupchak that he wanted to be traded. He did show up to the Lakers’ training facility on Saturday, not to practice, but reportedly only so that he could have a physical done.
He had told the Los Angeles Times on Thursday, “You don’t want to go to no place you’re not wanted.”
Odom has played for the Lakers since 2004 and was a fan favorite. In April, he was named NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year.
As for his wife, Khloe Kardashian, what was her reaction upon learning her husband would be playing for the Dallas Mavericks? She took to her Twitter account and tweeted:
“‘For I know the plans I have for u,’ declares the LORD. Plans to prosper u and not to harm u, plans to give u hope and a future.’Jeremiah”
She said in another Tweet, “I am blessed and happy anywhere as long as I am with my family! God is great!! Blessed beyond words! I love ALL of my dolls!” Will their move to Dallas be featured on their reality show, “Khloe & Lamar”? No word yet if that will happen.
