Danica Patrick appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman last night. See the video below.
When David Letterman introduced Danica Patrick as his guest last night, she came on stage to the tune of “Used to Be My Girl”, of course, in reference to the fact that he used to be her boss when she drove for Rahal Letterman Racing. He obviously is fond of her and said:
“You meant so much to people. Not only in racing, people, families, kids, young boys and young girls, but kids interested in all kinds of sports. Because they see this tremendous accomplishment of yours, succeeding and competing in a heretofore usually male-dominated field, and they say to themselves, ‘By gosh, I’m going to try something and maybe I can succeed as well.’ So, I mean, congratulations on the win, but more important congratulations on that because that’s a lovely thing.”
Awww Dave, you’re such a sweetie! I love the fact that he invited her on the show after her groundbreaking win Saturday at the Indy Japan 300, even though she left the Rahal Letterman team and made the switch to Andretti Green back in 2006.
Danica, who looked just absolutely gorgeous, asked what she did with her hair when she races. She told him that she puts her hair back and it goes underneath her suit. “It’s a matted mess when I get done. All you girls with long hair know what I’m talking about.”
Letterman told Danica that she probably has the longest hair in the series, to which Danica joked, pointing to her head, and said, “Here I do, sure.” Heh, good one.
