Tom Bradley has been named Penn State’s Interim Head Coach after Joe Paterno was fired last night following the child sex abuse scandal involving former Penn State assistant Jerry Sandusky that has rocked the university.

At a press conference that introduced the long time Penn State assistant as the interim head coach this morning, the 54-year-old Bradley addressed the media and said he didn’t know anything about former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky’s alleged sexual crimes during the time that a grand jury report suggests that Joe Paterno and others were aware of the alleged incidents. Mike McQueary, the former Graduate Assistant who witnessed the alleged 2002 incident of Sandusky sexually abusing a boy in the shower in the football facility and reported it to Paterno, will stay on as an Assistant but no word on where he would coach, whether it be from the sidelines or in the press box. The Nittany Lions, who are currently ranked No. 12, play host to No. 17 Nebraska Saturday. Bradley said:

“I take this job with very mixed emotions due to the situation. I’ve been asked by the university, the board of trustees to handle this. I told them I would do that. I will proceed in the manner Penn State expects. I met with the players last night and today. I told them what the expectations are. We are not going to waver from that.”

“First off, I grieve for the victims, I grieve for the families. I’m deeply saddened for that. The football part, we get working on that. Right now, I think you should know where the team is toward this whole issue, and it’s toward the children and their families. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.”

A new Sandusky rumor was brought to light this morning, making me absolutely sick. Pittsburgh radio host Mark Madden talked to WEEI’s Dennis & Callahan Morning Show and gave his take on the Penn State scandal. When asked about the ‘next shoe to drop’, here’s a snippet of what he had to say.

“Hold on to your stomachs because this is gross, I’ll use the only language that I can, that Jerry Sandusky and Second Mile were pimping out young boys to donors. This is being investigated by two prominent columnists as I speak.”

Listen to the entire interview here. I have no words.
