Petra Ecclestone, the 22-year-old daughter of Formula 1 CEO Bernie Ecclestone, wed her longtime beau, businessman James Stunt, Saturday in a $5 million lavish event held in Rome. The no expense spared nuptials were a three day affair. Get the deets behind the dress, who attended, who performed, blah blah blah.
Castella Orsini-Odescalchi, the same castle where Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes married in 2006, is where Petra and James said their ‘I do’s”. Vera Wang has been quite the busy bee of late, as she designed a custom gown for Petra to wear on her big day. There were 250 VIP guests in attendance, and they were treated to a wedding spectacular like no other. Notable guests included Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton and their mother Kathy, plus Sarah Ferguson and daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, just to name a few.
The Royal Philharmonic performed during the hour long ceremony and once Petra and James were pronounced as husband and wife, Andrea Bocelli wowed the crowd with Time To Say Goodbye, Somos Novois and Can’t Help Falling In Love.
The reception included performances by Eric Clapton (a close family friend), The Black Eyed Peas and the DJ for the evening? None other than David Guetta. Two fireworks displays were said to have taken place, and crowds reportedly congregated outside of the castle to watch the spectacular light show. The partying went on late into the night. And we thought the Kardashian wedding was over the top. Heh.
Petra and her new husband will be moving across the pond soon. She recently purchased Aaron Spelling’s former estate for $85 million. The 57,000 square foot mansion will be her second home, as she and James will split their time between L.A. and London. I guess if you’re worth a reported $4 billion, a second home bought for $85 mill is no big deal. Ahhh, the lifestyles of the rich and famous!
Congratulations to the happy couple, may you enjoy a lifetime of love, health & happiness!
