Reggie Bush Headed To Miami, Thanks New Orleans

July 28, 2011

In the latest of NFL signings, Reggie Bush has officially agreed to a contract with the Miami Dolphins, thus ending a five season run with the New Orleans Saints.

Reggie Bush

The running back has agreed to a two year contract. The Saints will receive safety Jonathon Amaya in the trade. What’s the deal worth? Reportedly just under $10 million, with Bush receiving $5 million this season. Injuries have plagued Bush while he was with the Saints, and his first year with the team was the only time he played in every game. Eight games was all he played in last season because of a broken right leg that occurred during Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers, and he was out of play for six weeks. He finished the season with 150 rushing yards in 36 attempts, 34 receptions, 208 receiving yards and 1 lone touchdown.

Last year was not the greatest for Bush on a personal level. He returned the Heisman Trophy he won in 2005 after an investigation found that he reportedly accepted gifts and money during his time at USC. He split with his reality star girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, last year as well, ending their three year on again/off again relationship. Coincidentally, his current girlfriend is a Kim K lookalike. She was the model featured in an Old Navy ad from earlier this year. The resemblance was uncanny, and Old Navy even tweeted, ‘Breaking News!! @CBSNEWS reports that Old Navy’s Super CUTE star looks like @kimkardashian. #LOL. What do you think?’ Well, Kim answered with a $20 million suit against the chain, claiming the ad was an ‘unauthorized use of Kardashian’s name, likeness, identity and persona’. Oh brother.

Sorry, got a bit off topic there. Bush thanked his fans and the Big Easy via Twitter, saying:

“To the city of New Orleans you will always have a place in my heart I love you guys your are my family & I will never forget our good times. I wish the New Orleans Saints the best of luck I will always be a fan! The team, coaches, and fans will be deeply missed!”

What do you guys think of this trade? Leave me your comments below!
