July 20, 2011

The US World Cup Team is already home and as expected these amazing women will be on talk shows, magazines, ads, television commercials basically everywhere you look. The first to invite them was David Letterman and his guests were none other than the beautiful goalkeeper Hope Solo and the amazing forward Abby Wambach. Have a look at the video below and as usual your comments are always welcome!!!

31 year-old Abby Wambach showed up in Germany for her third 2011 FIFA World Cup. Abby had some pretty amazing performances (4 goals, one assist) that granted her many recognitions like the 2011 ESPY Award for Best Play of the Year, 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup Bronze Boot and 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup Bronze Ball, what Abby was not so thrilled to get was the silver medal, but still she was proud of her performance, her team and her country, Go Abby!!!!!

And there is the 29 year-old Magic Jack and US National Team’s goalkeeper Hope Solo who was awarded with the Adidas Golden Glove for best rocking goalkeeper and The Adidas Bronze Ball for her outstanding performances overall. Don’t get me wrong all the girls were amazing and we are all so proud of each and everyone of them, but it was Mr. David Letterman’s choice to invite just the two of them.

Hope wore a black and brown long dress, with golden bracelet and long necklace and golden strappy sandals, Abby on the other hand wore black pants with a green shirt and a light green jacket over it and the audience received them with a warm applause but I was afraid about David’s opening line ‘What a tragic Loss”.

He kept telling them about his point of view during the last game in what he described as his poor knowledge in soccer, the first to talk was Hope and she very kindly explained what happened during that final game..

They attacked, they had more possessions of the ball than in any other previous game, yeap we all saw that and surely after 12 years since the team has been in a final we all expected they will win, I think that I can speak for all of you we could almost taste that piece of sweet victory after defeating Brazil, which is such a great team. The adrenaline rush was just so overwhelming, which probably explains losing to Japan in penalty shots a real heartbreaker.

I won’t keep talking, now check out Hope Solo and Abby Wambach’s video at the David Letterman Show below.
