Tiger Woods had the worse time in his personal life and career, after a total of 12 mistresses revealed that had an alleged affair with the golfer while he was married to Swedish beauty Elin Nordegren, one by one they came out publicly and at the same time. One by one his longtime sponsors signed out with Tiger, poor guy? Maybe a little but let’s face it, all those things were part of the consequences for his acts.
His divorce was finalized by August 2010 and his anticipated return to golf was less than stellar. He was not playing well, and things got worse. After having four surgeries on his leg, a fifth threatened to leave him out for God knows how long, so as a prevention doctors recommended he should wear a medical boot and he did, but still he continued playing only to get worse. Yesterday Tiger announced he was going to focus on his full recovery and until then he said Sayonara to golf.
Goodbye was sort of the same thing he has been hearing from his sponsors like Accenture, AT&T, Gillette and PepsiCo after they finalized their endorsements with Woods. While there were some that stayed with Tiger with Nike in the lead and now a Japanese company wants to be Tiger’s newest sponsor. Kowa Company was founded in 1894, based in Nagoya and consists of a group of associated companies in the areas of pharmaceuticals, development, business, electronics, intelligence, industry and development. Tiger will be the image of a television commercial for their Antiphlogistic Analgetic Vantelin Kowa series and is scheduled to be released next month.
What do you think about this? Do you think that Kowa is the first of many to sign with Tiger? Or was this just a lucky sponsor deal for him?
