The recent news of Terrell Owens’ surgery within the last month has everyone wondering if he in fact will return to football (assuming the season will go on as planned). It’s highly doubtful, as the recovery time is slated at about six months.
Now I need to point out that we have yet to hear confirmation from T.O.’s camp if he in fact did have surgery on one of his knees, but ESPN is reporting that a source close to Owens revealed that the surgery took place within the last month. As to how the injury happened, that too is a mystery. Some reports suggest that he was injured while taping a segment for his The T.O. Show on VH1. Another rumor claims he became injured while working out. How sad if his career would come to an end at the hands of an alleged injury while taping his reality show.
Last month, ESPN asked Owens’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus, if T.O. was injured, with Rosenhaus denying such a thing. They tried to contact him Sunday night, but to no avail. Jason Rosenhaus, his brother’s partner in their agent biz, told ESPN, “I don’t like to deny stories or confirm or deny anything. It’s really something for Drew (to address).”
I think we all know and believe that the injury and surgery did in fact happen, so where does this leave the 37-year-old? He has made it widely known that he does plan to play for a 16th season but obviously that can’t happen. He may recover a bit early, let’s say, maybe the end of November, but in all honesty, the season would almost be over and who is willing to take a chance on the free agent?
I think T.O’s done with football, but then again, you just never know. The third season of his show will premiere on August 22nd. Reality TV may be the way to go for the wide receiver. What do you think? Leave me your thoughts below!
