Father’s Day in Sports have special tributes in the U.S and the UK from golfer Rory McIlroy and soccer star Jermaine Jones, both accomplished great things in their career over the weekend which also was Father’s day weekend and both young athletes dedicated their goals to their fathers, Keep reading to now how these two great guys honored their pops plus don’t forget to take a look at the emotional moments video provided below.
This is the story about two awesome young athletes from complete different places, with nearly zero things in common, except for the fact that both were young, athletes, successful and both knew the great things their parents have done in their lives, this last part remind me of one thing I once heard, one of the ten commandment’s is Honor your father and mother, a man once said that sometimes things in your lives don’t go the way you expect them to go even thought your break your back working to accomplish thus things, think thoroughly are you honoring your father and mother? I thought that was an interesting question and a pretty easy thing to do to make things go great in your life, don’t take me wrong I don’t want to get into the religious mood but I just want it to share it with you, these young athletes Jermaine Jones and Rory McIlroy gave tribute to their fathers over the weekend, the same weekend Jones scored an spectacular goal against Jamaica at the Gold Cup and Rory won the U.S Open.
Jermaine’s father an American/ African soldier who was based in Germany when he met Jermaine mother, Jermaine salute his father when he score his first goal as part of the U.S soccer team against Jamaica, Jones used to play for Germany before he decide to switch to the U.S team.
Rory for his part celebrated with his father Gerry McIlroy who along his wife Rosie have been constant supporters for Rory ‘s golfing career ever since a young age, he used to work as a bartender, he would also clean those were two of the three jobs he had to kept Rory on the golf course, he was so sure of his son’s talent that he never complain about working 100 hours a week. I think It was amazing to see Gerry hugging Rory in the course, a very emotional not to mention freaking awesome!!!
