The Dark Knight Cast has just added two more. Actors from Lost and Transformers are now Dark Knights!
The third and final installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman films is making some headway, and he has lined up a pretty exciting cast. Two more actors have joined the star studded cast; “Lost” actor Brett Cullen and “Transformers” actor Chris Ellis. It will be a bit of a “Lost” reunion, as Cullen joins Nestor Carbonell, who played Richard on the series. Nestor is returning to the franchise as Gotham’s mayor, Anthony Garcia.
Other new cast members include Matthew Modine, Tom Conti and Joey King, while Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, and Michael Caine are all seasoned veterans.
Tom Hardy is also a newcomer playing Bane, and even more exciting is one of my all time favorite actresses, Anne Hathaway as Selina “Catwoman” Kyle. Inception actress, Marion Cotillard, who just had a baby boy, will play Miranda Tate.
There are a lot of new roles in this installment, but Nolan has done a stellar job thus far, so I trust that things will fall into place accordingly. He may hold off on announcing some of the roles to avoid revealing too much about the film’s plot.
They are currently filming in Chicago and have a generous budget of $250 million. By far the most expensive film in Nolan’s Batman trilogy – Batman Begins cost $150 million and The Dark Knight came in at $185 million.
So, are you guys excited about the Dark Night Rises? I am looking forward to it. But take a word from the wise – avoid opening night. I did that with the last film, and trust me – a three-hour Batman film, with a lot of dark scenes, is hard to stay awake for. You will have to watch it again.
