UFC 129 is finally here! The UFC 129 fight where St. Pierre will face Jake Shields will be held at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario in Canada. For those who are wondering where you can watch this fight I can tell you that Spike TV will broadcast the preliminary card bouts between Rory MacDonald and Nate Diaz and also the fight between Sean Pierson vs. Jake Ellenberger, while Facebook will feature Kyle Watson vs. John Makdessi. Ryan Jensen vs. Jason MacDonald, Claude Patrick vs. Daniel Roberts, Pablo Garza vs. Yves Jabouin and Charlie Valencia vs. Ivan Menjivar. But if you by chance have access to Pay Per View, the fight will begin at exactly 6 pm PT/ 9 pm ET.
There is absolutely no doubt the main fight between Shields and St. Pierre sounds amazing, Georges comes from a clean and absolute victory over Josh Kocheck at UFC 124, Shields on the other hand defeated Martin Kampmann at UFC 121, who do you think will win? Let’s look at the facts – St. Pierre weighs 170 pounds, stands at 5’10” and his reach is 78.1. He holds a record of 23 fights of which he has only been defeated twice. Shields is much higher, standing at 6’0” weighing 170.5 pounds and 72.0 is his reach, but he has been defeated 4 times out of his 31 fights? Definitely not bad at all, which totally makes things more crazy, a tight competition.
Another freaking great fight comes in the heavyweight division bout – Mashida vs. Couture, 32 year-old Lyoto comes from shameful losses first against Mauricio Rua in UFC 113 and second at UFC 123 against Quinton Jackson, the only two of his MMA career. 47-year-old legendary MMA fighter Randy Couture, who starred in Sylvester Stallone’s film The Expendables, like Mashida stands at 6’1” but he is 18 pounds heavier at 220. During his spectacular career he has been in 29 fights, of those he has lost 10, I wonder if these two can steal the main’s fight thunder???
