Victoria Lindsay Cheerleader Beating (Video)

April 8, 2008
By

Meet Victoria Lindsay, the cheerleader who allegedly took a nasty beating from her friends, all to make a YouTube video. You can view the video here and see her photos.

Victoria Lindsay

Her name as well as the tape was released by the sheriff’s department, presumably to educate the public about this cheerleader beating and protect this from happening in your neighborhood. The names of all of the alleged juvenile attackers have also been printed in the media.

As an update, the latest news is that Dr. Phil is in hot water because his staff bailed out one of the accused teenagers from prison for $33,000. The bail was supposedly in exchange for Mercades Nichols agreeing to an exclusive interview on the Dr. Phil show. Ridiculous. The show has backtracked in the face of negative publicity.

As a biography, she is a 16-year old cheerleader who attends Mulberry High School in Lakeland, Florida. Although Lindsay is an honor student, she reportedly has some growing up problems. She was staying at the grandmother’s house of a friend rather than her parents at the time of the attack. Our comment section includes remarks by some girlfriends who know Ms. Lindsay.

Victoria’s cheerleader pals apparently decided it would be cool to post a violent YouTube video, so six of the girls supposedly cornered her in a friend’s house while two boys stood watch outside the house.

It appears from the video that they tried to coax Victoria Lindsay into a brawl so that the video would look like two girls fighting and nobody would know who started it. But that plan backfired because Victoria did not fight back. She covered her head with her hands while she was verbally assaulted and slowly beaten more aggressively as the altercation continued.

Her injuries include a concussion, lacerations, loss of hearing and blurry vision. She has still not recovered completely in the local hospital. She endured the attack for 35-minutes

These high school girls are probably going to have hell to pay. All six plus the boys have been arrested for various charges including aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and kidnapping. Despite how this looks, please remember that the girls are innocent until proven guilty.

Victoria’s parents have spoken out in a YouTube video you can watch here.

This is also my plug for martial arts. Although it would not have helped against six girls she clearly could have kicked the main instigator’s butt and it might have made the other girls think twice.

Women should not feel so helpless in a situation like this, which could have been a lot worse in a public park at night. Victoria Lindsay is thin and should have some tools available to defend herself in any situation. So go ask your mom to sign you up for a martial arts class today.

Unfortunately Victoria Lindsay’s alleged attackers addresses and phone numbers have been copied around on blogs and forums as well. We consider this an invasion of privacy and have removed at least two comments with phone numbers in our article just as fast as we can. In fact, some of the data that is being printed on the internet is wrong and has ended up tormenting at least once unrelated family. We had the eight names and removed them because of this reason, and we removed references to a blog purporting to be Mercedes Nichols blog because it may be faked.

The video is below with photos.

I would love 5 minutes alone with these little girls. I dont need a half an hour or 6 friends. This poor girl was not beaten up, she was brutalized, and the reason the girls were joking about it in the holding cell, is because they know the judicial system is a joke, and they will maybe get probabtion, SAD. They should bring back stoning. EYE FOR AN EYE. But I am a firm believer in Karma, itll bite ya everytime!!

this beating is outragious,, They knew what they we’re doing, these girls need to go to prison, and the parents that are going along with this, and think that their daughter is too pretty to go to prison, BULL CRAP!!! you need to start being a parent and not enable them to brake the law,, this girl did nothing wrong, and it’s plain to see that these girls had to gang up on her and couldn’t talk to her one on one. these girls need to answer for what they did. go to anger managment class , but a slap on the hand isn’t going to work.. they also need to be held financally responsable for this girls medical bills, and pain and suffering.

After watching this video for the first time this morning my heart instantly sunk for Victoria. A similar thing happened to me when I was in high school for no good reason at all except for the girl who savagely beat me was simply trying to be tough and cool. I was also 16 at the time and am now 24 and am still affected today emotionally and mentally. What those girls did to Victoria was disgusting and completely immoral. How do you live with yourself doing that to another person? I could have cried myself hearing her crying as those girls hit her so hard over and over again. Do they realize they could have killed her?

As I said before, I was also in a similar situation only I was in school at the time this happened. The girl pulled my hair down as she hit me continuously in the face breaking my nose and blackening both of my eyes shut. I too was knocked unconscious. The teacher actually ran out of the room to get security I was getting beaten so badly. As the security guard ripped her off of me she still continued to kick me in my back. After that I returned to school two weeks later to only be tortured more for being looked at as weak and harassed by her and her friends. I ended up leaving high school early for home schooling. I became depressed, withdrawn, lost significant weight, lost all my friends, and all the joys in my life. I am still to this day seeking therapy and am on medication because of how traumatic this situation for me was.

All I can say is that to Victoria and her family is that there are so many other people that have gone through what she has and is going through and perhaps this is what was needed to finally put an end to bullying and violence at such a young age. It is damaging not just physically but so much more emotionally. It is traumatic. She has been raped and violated as a young person and her life will no longer be the same. The defendant lawyers should be shamed in trying to lessen this case to only minor physical damage. There is a much bigger picture here. I just want Victoria and her family to know that she is not alone and I myself am still going through the court system to finalize my traumatic experience almost 8 years ago. But I have come a long way being awarded $250,000 dollars for pain and suffering. But like I said it still has not changed the fact that my life had changed drastically after that damaging situation. Just know Victoria that I have come a long way and you just have to stay strong and keep going in life. A situation like this does not build character, it brings it out and in my eyes you are stronger than you know. This situation will only make you so much stronger to deal with all the other adversities that will come your way in life. And those other girls have only shown themselves to have a weaker character because they can’t control themselves and be decent human beings with a moral conscience. This will not help them later in life, only hurt them.

My heart and support goes out to Victoria and her family and all of those who have had to suffer through anything like this inexcusable, violent assault. All bullying and violence must be stopped and should not be acceptable among young kids or anyone in our society. It does nothing but bring us down as a whole.

    God Bless,
    Morgan

These kids are so stupid that it’s not funny. First they tape their crime, then they post it on the Internet for everyone to see. It’s almost like they want to go to jail. Were they dropped on their heads as babies or something?

I cannot believe that these girls did this to one innocent girl. Talk about childish and just down right TERRIBLE. that poor girl is going to spend the rest of her life suffering for this brutal act and for what? What did those six girls stand to gain from beating this poor girl and then having the audacity to video tape it with the intentions of puttin it on myspace??

My heart cries for this poor girl who endured it, she is in my thoughts and my prayers….. and i pray that the girls and guys involved in this brutal tragedy get what they deserve…… TO BE TRIED AS ADULTS!!!! they deserve nothing less than a prison sentance for what they did!!

    Kadee Says:

This is the lowest you can get. These cheerleaders and supposed friends of Victoria’s are not “kids” they had planned this before it took place so I do not know why people are referring to them as children because they are not and should be charged as adults. The sick part about these people is that they were all laughing in the holding cell like this poor girl’s life was a joke. They do not deserve an easy way out of this and I pray to god that they do not get one. Now this poor girl will have to live with those images for the rest of her life, hopefully she can recover physically and emotionally from this, and as for those who did this to her, I hope that they realize what horrible things they have done to this girl. I don’t even see them as humans, they’re animals and should be caged like them.
