I made a trip recently to London, more specifically the financial district, and the money in that area of town means you can’t turn your head without seeing a Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Mazerati! It got me to thinking, what are the most expensive cars money can buy?
While most of us couldn’t imagine doling out enough cash for a really fast bike, there is an elite class of multi-millionaires that can afford to invest in these next super-cars. Find out what a few million in spare change could buy you below!
5. McLaren F1: $970,000
What better way to kick off the top 5 most expensive cars than a salute to the the long-time standard of super-cars? The F1 was originally built in 1994, but amazingly it still competes with it’s modern-day successors. The McLaren clocks a solid 240 mph top speed and can get from 0 to 60 in just 3.2 seconds!
4. Maybach Landaulet: $1,400,000
When you picture the most expensive cars in the world, sports-cars usually come to mind. But this luxury sedan brings together the best from both worlds. Packing an impressive V12 bi-turbo engine that generates 620hp, this luxury car can certainly move, but it’s the amenities that really make it sell. The Maybach Landaulet comes with reclining rear seats, automated climate control, electronic curtains for privacy, and a fully retractable rear roof.
3. Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport: $1,700,000
The modern-age king of super-cars, the Bugatti Veyron is now the standard by which all other super-cars are measured. The legendary W16 1,001 horsepower engine propels this beauty to 253+ mph and a formerly industry leading 0-60 mph time of 2.6 seconds.
2. Koenigsegg Agera: $2,100,000
A battle has been waging in the high-price super-car world since the dawn of the assembly line, and the trophy is the title of the fastest street-legal car in the world. You may not have heard of Koenigsegg (they could use a better name), but this boutique car-maker is looking to beat the record set by the top car on my list. The Agera hasn’t been officially tested, but industry experts think it’s 1,115 horsepower bio fueled engine could take top prize later this year!
1. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport: $2,600,000
Outpricing it’s closest competitors by half a million dollars, this insane automobile rightfully holds the land-speed record for street-legal cars. The massive 16.4 liter W16 engine cranks out a whopping 1,200 horsepower and propels the super-sleek car to 267.81 mph.
Well there you have it! Personally, if I had the money and had to buy a million-dollar car, I’d go for an old classic. Still, it must be a crazy rush to drive on of these things! Would you ever buy a super-car? Let me know in the comment section!
