Jake Golic is the son of ex-NFL player Mike Golic, who now co-hosts Mike & Mike in the Morning for ESPN. Jake will play football at Notre Dame next year, making him the first signee for the 2009 class. You can see his biography, video and photos below.

Jake Golic lives in West Harford, Connecticut where he played high school football for the Indians. Jake is following in the footsteps of his father, uncle Bob and older brother, Mike Jr, to play football at Notre Dame. Mike Jr just completed his freshman season. By the sounds of it, Notre Dame was his only option.

“I wasn’t waiting for offers. I was waiting for Notre Dame the whole time. I couldn’t really care what happened besides that. I was just waiting for Notre Dame to come.”

Jake’s measurements are different depending on where you look, but he’s around 6′ 5″ and 220 pounds. Sounds like a good size for the tight end position, which is what he is slated to play for the blue and gold.

Golic didn’t have a lot of public scholarship offers, except from the school in his home state, the University of Connecticut. A little surprising since he brought 410 yards and 2 touchdowns on 21 receptions last season. The little interest was probably more due to the fact that it was widely known Jake really wanted Notre Dame.

You can see video of Jake Golic here and more photos of Jake and his dad below.
