Mexican golf star, Lorena Ochoa, is the hottest thing in women’s golf right now. She took a five-shot victory today in the Kraft Nabisco Championship. She was the only player to not have a bogey in the final round which gave her a close of 5-under 67. That means she got to take the big plunge (see the photos below)!
Twenty years ago Amy Alcott began the tradition of the winner of the Nabisco jumping into the lake surrounding the 18th green. Ochoa took that swim today and did it with a flair. She had a mariachi band serenading her, she grabbed her parents by the hand and they all jumped in. Then her brother and sister-in-law jumped in. Then her coach, caddie and a couple dozen more friends and family jumped in. They all swam to the beat of the mariachi band.
The 26-year-old Ochoa has won three out of four tournaments this year by a combined 23 shots.
