Denise Chartier is the loving wife of Brown University soccer coach Denis Chartier. It was her husband who was reported missing early last February and tragically found dead almost one month after. Denise’s husband was the 56 year old United States Air Force veteran, Johnson & Wales graduate (1984, management), former Rhode Island United U-12 team, RI-USA Strikers, Rhode Island College’s head coach and assistant coach of Brown’s women’s soccer team for the past 15 years along with Phil Pincince, who is head coach. According to police reports at Burrillville in Connecticut, their son Joe was the last to see him on February 6th, they reported him missing the following day. The last trace investigators found about him was his Foxwoods Resort Casino card was used at about 11:30 on Feb. 7th. His lifeless body was found inside his car on Saturday, February 26th, 2011 at a commuter parking lot on Route 395 in Griswold, Connecticut. Here is what she said about her hubby’s disappearance….
“As the night went on, I stayed up waiting and hoping he would come home and I thought, ‘Well, maybe he went somewhere and he would be back’. But it never happened. We just can’t figure it out. He loved his job. He loved coaching, that’s what he does.”
About his beautiful, loving wife, caring mother of their two sons and amazing grandmother of their gorgeous grandchildren there is almost zero information, we do know Denise Chartier Simpson’s eldest son is Joe and her youngest is Matthew, it is Matthew who has given her the joyful experience of becoming a grandmother of two beautiful grandchildren.
