When we hear the last name Earnhardt, we can’t help but get an adrenaline rush through our veins, that would happen either if you are a NASCAR fan or not. The feeling is inevitable and when we put that last name with the first name Jeffrey the feeling is overwhelming, why is that? Not only is he Dale Earnhardt’s grandson, he is young, talented, amazing a racer that shines by himself and he is our special guest in this Rightfielders exclusive Interview with NASCAR’s amazing talent Jeffrey Earnhardt.
Hello Jeffrey, it is so nice and an absolute honor to have this interview with you! We, like any other speed fan have followed your career and feel absolutely thrilled to see you behind the wheel. You were born into the world of NASCAR and it was pretty normal and even expected to see you become a racer.
Miriam: Was there a time growing up when you saw yourself doing another profession?
Jeffrey Earnhardt: No not really, I tried wrestling in HS and ran track but no nothing like wanting to become a racer.
M: How old were you when you started racing?
M: Who was the first person you talked to about racing professionally?
JE: I started talking to my dad when I was 12.
M: When starting, and probably still now, do you feel like you have to give more on the track since people expect that from you because of your family history in racing?
JE: Yes kinda, not too much though, I like to do my thing and try not to let people influence me too much but there is obviously a little pressure.
M: Do you remember any funny story or something embarrassing that has happened to you in your career?
JE: Not really pretty much when you are racing it is a serious thing……
M: I read once you said your grandfather was intimidating, how do you think of him?
JE: I think of my granddad as a hard-working man who never settled for no and always did what he wanted, he always made sure that nothing got in his way. He made racing first and was a very determined person to become successful and was my hero.
M: How is your relationship with your brother Bobby?
JE: We don’t see much of each other.
M: How was your childhood, any special memories?
JE: The best memories that I can think of is the first time with my dad that I shot a big Buck along with my brother on the Dale Earnhardt Inc. property. (see attached picture below)
M: What about in high school? By the way, where did you go to school?
JE: I went to school at Mooresville Senior High and I really didn’t care for school much.
M: What is your favorite food?
M: What kind of music do you like? Movies? Books?
JE: I like country music, my favorite artist is not necessarily country but Cory Smith and I also like Luke Bryan. I don’t read and I like all scary movies and Talladega Nights.
M: You are now racing truck series, do you prefer that over Nationwide series?
JE: I like the truck series but hope to race in Nationwide too.
M: Do you have a favorite racer beside your grandfather?
JE: Kyle Busch.
M: Which is your favorite track?
JE: Dover- Because I got my first pole in the K&N series and I seem to run well there.
M: Can you describe the feeling you get when racing?
JE: Excited, nervous all at once.
M: Sorry to ask you this but I owe it to your female fans, are you single?
M: What is it that you are looking for in a girl?
JE: NOTHING- I am only focused on racing.
M: What do you like do when you are not racing?
JE: Hunting and fishing anything outdoors, racing with Jerry Nadeau my driver coach.
M: What inspires you before a race?
JE: It comes from within, watching my Grandfather and my family I think it has always inspired me.
M: Back in 2007 you were the Most Popular Driver at the NASCAR Busch East Series, that must have been a great feeling and now you are making a good impression at the Camping World Truck Series NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway. How does that feel?
JE: Feels good to know that people actually are supporting me and that some are older fans that supported my Grandfather and still support the Earnhardt family. I have a lot to prove.
M: Where do you see yourself in five years?
JE: In the Cup Series and hopefully a Champion or winning races in one of the three top Elite Series of NASCAR.
