As of right now, there have been no ‘official’ offers put on the table, but reports have named Laker center Andrew Bynum as the other key player on the other side of the trade in exchange for Carmelo Anthony.

A source close to the trade talks told ESPN:

“There have been discussions between the two teams. The Lakers are definitely an option.”

Could having a home in the L.A. area entice the 26-year-old to play for the Lakers? He and his wife, La La Vazquez bought a house outside of L.A. last year.

Also in trade talks with the Nuggets are the New York Knicks and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Preliminary talks involved a rumored three way trade that could see the Knicks’ Wilson Chandler headed to Denver along with Minnesota’s Corey Brewer and a first round draft pick. Denver is looking at securing some youth on their team, though, with interest in the Knicks’ Landry Fields and Danilo Gallinari in addition to Chandler. Eddy Curry and Anthony Randolph of the Knicks are rumored to be involved in the trade as well, heading to Minnesota.

While it’s no secret that the Knicks have had their eye on Carmelo for quite a while now, should the Knicks be doing everything in their power to make sure this is a done deal sooner than later? Check out Bleacher Report’s 10 reasons why they need to Pull The Trigger Now!

While the trade deadline is February 24th, we will see more deals finalized in the next couple weeks across the league. Will we see a Carmelo Anthony, Los Angeles Lakers deal or will he be dealt to the Knicks? I want to know what you think, so leave me your comments! A related video can be found below as well.
