There’s plenty of mixed emotions with this latest news! It has been officially announced that former Minnesota’s Darrell Bevell has taken a new job, hired on by Pete Carroll as the Seattle Seahawks’ offensive coordinator after the dismissal of Jeremy Bates.
Bates, who was let go for “philosophical differences,” is one of the latest changes head coach Pete Carroll has made in an effort to clean house when it comes to Seattle’s offense. After a two day interview, with contract talks under way, it appears that Bevell is to be just what the team needs to turn itself around, according to Seattle’s head coach!
Carroll, on the firing and hiring – “We just saw things differently. As we were going to move ahead I had some thoughts as to how I wanted to go, and I think this was the best thing at the time to do.”
As a biography, Bevell has plenty of experience to benefit his new team. The forty-one year old Arizona native has been coaching since the mid 90’s, and has worked with the Green Bay Packers as offensive assistant for two years before working with the Minnesota Vikings.
Previous to his work with both teams, the former college quarterback from Wisconsin College also gained experience while working at Westmar University, Iowa State University, and the University of Connecticut.
Tell us what you think about his move to the Seahawks below. Will he make for a good OC after his bumpy road with the Vikings? Plus get more on the former Minnesota coordinator here.
