Touchdown! Apparently Brett Favre has NOT been suspended from his love of football…instead, he was fined $50,000 by the NFL for allegedly sending unsolicited photos and lewd texts to a female from the franchise. Find out more revealing details and see photos and a video right here
If quarterback Brett Favre can’t get away with a Super Bowl victory, at least he can win the latest scandal of the season…allegedly sexting a former employee of the New York Jets. Be sure to check out pictures and videos below.
According to reports, Jen Sterger, a sports reporter for the New York Jets, claims that the quarterback wasn’t just talking football. Sterger alleges that Favre left her racy voicemails, and explicit text and picture messages during the Jet’s 2008 season. Because the photos in this scandal could not be proven, the NFL instead of suspending Favre from footbal, slapped him with a $50,000 fine.
It is said that Brett did confess to leaving Jen sexy voicemails, (that is if you find Favre sexy), however, he denies ever sending her pics of his jock strap, so to speak. Today, the NFL released a statement regarding their decision based on their findings:
“On the basis of the evidence currently available to him, Commissioner Goodell could not conclude that Favre violated league policies relating to workplace conduct. The forensic analysis could not establish that Favre sent the objectionable photographs to Sterger.”
So why the fine you may ask? For the “lack of cooperation when interviewed by league security”. It really came down to the distinction between personal relations and violating league policies regarding workplace conduct. Regardless, this may have been the footballer’s best strategy yet off the field, only wish I could say that for this year’s season!
