It was on May 3rd that we first heard the sad news about the UVA Lacrosse player Yeardly Love who was found dead at about 2:15 a.m at the apartment she shared with two of her friends just a few blocks from campus, it was her friends who called 911 when they found her unconscious in her bed, their first thought was alcohol overdose, but soon they wold found more clues….
When they looked closely they saw that Yeardley was lying lifeless in a pool of blood, had severe signs of trauma to her head and face especially her eye that was swollen shut. Fox News said that the person who killed her kicked her head against the wall over and over again until her last breath of life. It was believed that her ex boyfriend (with whom she recently broke up) was the one responsible for her death. 23 year old George Huguely V part of the Men´s Lacrosse team was found 4 hours later in his apartment in the building next to Love’s and taken into arrest at Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. Although her family and even former nanny said he was a good, kind young man police records and fellow students described a totally different guy.
Students said he could get really violent, he was “F&%$* up”, police records said he had encounters with the law three previous times. First was when he was in Florida and he was charged with under age drinking, second time was when he was at his family yacht and had a pretty nasty confrontation with his father and third he was arrested for public intoxication, reports described the episode with Huguely threatening to kill the female Police officer who had arrested him, screaming profanities and even physically assaulted the police officer who had no choice but to subdue him with a Taser.
Mr. Huguely was born on August 17, 1987, in Washington, D.C. to Marta Murphy and George Huguely IV, he grew up surrounded by life privileges, he comes from a long line of Business, successful Huguely men, after graduation he was starting a job in real State in Washington, you can check out more of him and his family’s history here.

When Yeardley got into UVA she got into the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and became a successful player with the Cavaliers Lacrosse Team. She holds a career record 48/12, her death came just two weeks from graduation she was graduating with a major in Business and minor in Spanish.
Witness said their breakup was after Love was assaulted by her drunken ex-beau he was allegedly so drunk that he didn’t even recall hitting her, he sent rude and threatening texts and emails to Yeardley. He was charged with first degree murder.
When arrested he confessed to kicking Yeardley’s bedroom door which was locked, banged her head repeatedly against the wall, but now his attorney said that Love’s caused of death was not severe trauma in her head.
“She suffered a cardiac arrhythmia that caused insufficient blood flow to her head. Her vascular system suffered from a lack of oxygen and caused “ongoing damage,” and therefore Love died from a lack of oxygen”
Today Police reports said he could get a plea deal that might save hm from the death penalty.
