Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson got in an ugly fight with Tennessee Titans defensive back Cortland Finnegan. What started the fight between them? What will their punishment be? Check out all the recent updates behind their fight, check out the photos and the famous fight video below.
There is no secret that Tennessee Titan Cortland Finnegan has some temper of his own, at least in the field that is, I heard he is quite a sweet guy at home, so he is letting all that energy overflow in the field and into some other players faces.
Well, you probably heard about Cortland getting into a fist fight with Houston Texan Andre Johnson, who just became a daddy this February, he has the most adorable baby girl, well that is another topic, but she is adorable, anyways and returning to our Sunday football/ boxing news it was reported that Finnegan was the one responsible for starting the fist fight at Reliant Stadium.
It seemed that Johnson had forgotten about paying the $7,500 fine he received for taking Finnegan to the ground by the facemask last season, because during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game he didn’t hesitate to fire back at Finnegan when he threw himself at him. Johnson answered by pulling Finnegan’s helmet then Finnegan pulled Johnson’s helmet, he went to the ground and this helped Andre to begin a series of punches on his head and back until they were separated, I wonder what can possibly happen at this point because Finnegan was clapping in an encouraging kind of way, did he think Johnson would be the only one to get punished?
It that was so, he was so wrong since both players were ejected off the field and might not be on the field for his next game, he was booed by fans while Johnson received an ovation. He apologized afterward, but he couldn’t avoid being punished for his next game against the Eagles where Johnson will not be playing as part of his suspension.
“I would like to apologize to the organization, our owner, my teammates, What happened out there wasn’t me. I just lost my cool and I wish I could take back what happened but I can’t. I’m pretty sure I’ll be disciplined for it, I’ll have to deal with it from there.” Andre Johnson.
Their first time these two players got into a fight Texas won 34-31 and the Texans won once again in this second fight 20-0. What do you think about this fight? Do you think it was fair to get both players ejected? If not who do you think should be the only one to be punished?
