New York Yankees player Hideki Matsui announced today that he snuck off to New York yesterday to get married. Just who is this mystery woman, and is she a HOT baseball Wife? See photos and a biography below.
Hideki Matsui, who was Japan’s most eligible bachelor, married a 25-year-old Japanese civilian Wednesday night in New York. They met through a mutual friend and have been together the last two years. Oddly enough, as Matsui announced to the press of his marriage Wednesday, he introduced his new wife through sketches. Yes, sketches. See more of those photos below. He told reporters through an interpreter:
“I met somebody who felt right, and that was it.”
A member of the press then asked if Derek Jeter was going to be the next one to marry. Matsui replied that he and Jeter had a bet going on who would marry first. It originally started out as a bet between Jeter and Bobby Abreu, and who would marry first between the two. Matsui heard about the bet and wanted part of the action. Jeter knew that Matsui had a girlfriend but had no idea that he was going to get married in the spring. When Abreu was told of Matsui’s marriage, he laughed and said that he was going to write Matsui a check. Jeter chuckled and said, “If he wanted the money, all he had to do was ask. He didn’t really have to do it.” How much the winner of the bet was going to receive was not disclosed.
Of course, the new wife of Hideki Matsui remains a mystery. We will, of course, update this page once we find out who she is. We do know that she is 25 years old and Japanese. She is a civilian and used to work at a “highly respected company”. They met in Japan in 2006, during the off-season.
