There have been several issues with children’s playthings and other items this year and we have all the information on what to stay away from and what you need to do if you have something unsafe.

Fisher Price has had quite a few items on the 2010 toy recall list. Just recently they put out news that about 10 million toys and other baby products would need to be returned. These unsafe items include the Trikes and Tough Trikes toddler tricycles which have injured at least 10 children. The other issues are with Healthy Care, Easy Clean and Close to Me High Chairs, as well as some other small toys. For all of the specific details, with what you can do, head over here.

Three of the latest children’s items known to cause problems are Rollerblade USA rollerblades, Big Ideas Marketing’s horse-on-a-stick and some Rocking Horse Depot rocking horses. The first may have loose parts on new skates that would obviously cause injuries. The last two are both capable of causing strangulation. If you have any of these items, check out this site for the exact items and contact information.

Other toys have been singled out and you can go to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (http://www.cpsc.gov/) and click on “Recalls and Product Safety News” to see if you have any of the dangerous items. Now if you discover that you have any of these products in question, the most important thing to do is immediately take the plaything away from the child(ren). Then you can get the follow up information here or at any of these links. You can also report a toy that you think is unsafe.

With holiday gift giving right around the corner, it is very important to know what items are on the 2010 toy recall list. Be sure to spread this information to anyone buying or receiving children’s gift this year. Also, leave me your comments below after you check out these photos and video.
