The world may soon fight with computers! There has been a breakout of the highly complex stuxnet worm & Iran may be the target! This malware is quite different, and for more details, photos and video, keep reading.
60% of the cases of this problem have been found in Iran, which is leading people to believe that perhaps another country is attacking their nuclear plant (photo above). Others believe it could be an underground job. Either way it is fighting like we have never seen before!
Instead of typical software of this kind that uses the internet to spy on your computer and steal information, USB sticks are the vehicles that move the stuxnet worm. Iran has been a major target but it has spread leaving some experts baffled.
We saw it first back in June, and it may have been written last year. The most popular belief is that is a pre-meditated attack on the country’s power source.
“The fact that we see so many more infections in Iran than anywhere else in the world makes us think this threat was targeted at Iran and that there was something in Iran that was of very, very high value to whomever wrote it.”
Regardless of whether it is or not, India has been affected, and there are fears that China or the US is next.
“This is the first direct example of weaponized software, highly customized and designed to find a particular target.”
As far as the big picture is concerned, there were always thoughts that as our civilization and technology advanced that this type of artillery may be used someday. It will take research to find out who or what is really behind this, but it is a scary thought!
“We’re looking at a new era of weaponized cyberattacks. This is only the beginning of this thing.”
What is this world coming to? I sure hope they get some answers soon about the stuxnet worm. Iran could be just the first of many countries hit by the virus. What are your thoughts on this innovative attack (if it is one)? Be sure to leave me your comments after you check out these pictures and video.
