Frankie Edgar vs. BJ Penn II: UFC 118 Lightweight Championship

August 17, 2010

MMA fans are stoked about this UFC 118 fight card. Why? Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn will brawl-it-out in what could potentially be an epic rematch. Not to mention the other great fights set to take place in Boston on August 28. Get the scoop here.

This is the rematch of the century! Okay, maybe I wouldn’t go that far – Machida vs. Shogun was pretty awesome – but it is a pretty exciting rematch nonetheless. In the first fight between these two skilled warriors we saw Frank Edgar put an unexpected whoopin on BJ Penn. Now “The Prodigy” has the chance to win the belt back, and show that the first go round was a fluke.

Now there are a few questions that one must ask in order to draw a logical conclusion about which of these two MMA masters will be victorious come August 28. Was Penn over confident, and thus unprepared for the first bout? Is Edgar just an all around better fighter than Penn is? Has Penn become softer now that he is in his early thirties? Will “The Prodigy” have “The Answer” or will the question be to difficult?

I predict BJ will school Frankie, and defeat him with a gnarly submission sometime between the first and last round, haha, but I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Kudos to Dana White for setting up such a wicked awesome fight card! Check it out below!
