Could it be true? Are Prince William, Kate Middleton cousins? Seriously? Read more to get the details plus check out some photos and video of the two below.
Okay it’s distant…quite distant. It was the Daily Mail who reported the whole Prince William, Kate Middleton cousins story this morning.
The beautiful brunette (have you ever seen her rowing pictures? Check those out here) and her Prince do share an ancestor in common. His name? Sir Thomas Leighton. How does he relate to the two of them?
He is William’s 12th generation great-grandparent, and Kate’s 11th – meaning the pair are 12th cousins, once removed.
Just who was this man? According to the DM, he’s an “Elizabethan soldier, diplomat and, for 40 years, the cut-throat Governor of Guernsey. A despot and a dictator, Leighton brooked no argument and made life hell for those he ruled. He disregarded civil liberties and kept the people down by main force.”
Hmmm. Certainly not a relative to be proud of, eh?
So even though the DM claims that this new revelation has been a “dark and deliciously murky secret“, will this really affect the impending wedding between the two? Highly unlikely. You can bet that these two will be walking down the aisle in no time. The question is…when? I cannot wait to see those wedding pictures! You know her gown will be breathtaking and no lavish detail will be spared for these nuptials!
Prince William and Kate Middleton have been dating for almost eight years now. They did have a highly publicized split back in 2007, but a reconciliation was imminent, despite reports that the two claimed they were ‘just friends’. They would later be spotted together on several occasions.
Now what do you think of the Prince William, Kate Middleton cousins revelation? Personally, I could care less. Come on, 12th degree? Meanwhile, you can see more photos and a video of the two below.
