They have been filming the DC comic movie for a few months now, in preparation for the June 2011 premiere. And though Ryan Reynolds injured his shoulder, ‘Green Lantern’ kept rolling the cameras! Keep reading below for more, including some great photos and a video.
The 33 year old actor was reported, by Us Weekly, to have separated his shoulder earlier this week. However after hearing from a source in production, it seems the shoulder was just a “minor” issue. Phew!
I would hate to have the project delayed as I am excited to see if this movie lives up to the likes of ‘The Dark Knight.’ I am also intrigued to see how the ‘Proposal’ actor does in a role of this caliber. Well it appears that production was not slowed at all and we will see him in that green costume as scheduled.
Ryan Reynolds’ injured shoulder is not the first accident to happen on a movie set. Even when there are stunt doubles, some actors like to get in there, and obviously sometimes get hurt. Blake Lively will play Carol Ferris, a woman who manages an aerospace company of her dad’s and falls for Hal Jordan/Green Lantern. She described how tough filming an action movie can be.
“I’m 40 feet in the air, spiraling around. That’s the best workout you can ever do because it’s all core. You do that for ten minutes and you should see your body the next day! It’s so exhilarating, so thrilling — and nauseating.”
Other than trying to be safe on camera, the superhero actor has been married to his wife Scarlett Johansson since 2008 and they just bought a little house in Louisiana with a barn. The two don’t have any kids yet, but have talked about adopting.
I sure hope he stays healthy and there are no more Ryan Reynolds’ injuries. What do you think of the safety on film sets and whether or not actors do too many daring stunts? Let me know in the comment section below, after you check out these pictures and video.
