Uruguay was playing without one of their best players, Luis Suarez, who received a red card in their last game against Ghana, if they advance to the finals he will be playing. The Dutch team was going to take advantage of his absence, but were they able to?
The game started and the Dutch and their expected Uruguay was going to be an easy team to win, but Uruguay was going to prove them wrong.
Netherlands scored their beautiful goal from 35 yards by their captain Giovanni van Bronckhorts on the 18th minute and Uruguay’s goalkeeper Muslera was left only brushing his finger on the Jabulani.
Uruguay’s Captain Diego Forlan was not letting the Dutch celebrate their victory over them and on the 41st minute he scored.
In the second half things seemed to be very quiet and we began to wonder if we were going to have 30 minutes in the extra time added, but Wesley Sneijder clear out our doubts when he set the score 2-1 on the 70th minute just three minutes after that goal Arjen Robben was going to end all the hopes of the Uruguayans when he scored Netherlands’ third goal, that sent all the Dutch on the feet.
Uruguay was saying goodbye to South Africa, but not before they scored their last goal on the 90+2 minutes (Pereira), three minutes were added in the injury time, the referee gave them more than that, but then the final whistle sounded and Netherlands celebrated their pass to the finals, while Uruguay will be playing against the team who loses tomorrow for the third place on Saturday.
