At this phase of the World Cup there is no turning back, you lose and you pack your bags and go home. Yesterday we saw England and Mexico, this morning it was Slovakia and just now it was Chile who lost against the four time champions of the World, Brazil.

At the beginning of this Cup we saw a Brazil that was not so convincing, but as the matches pass they regained strength and were invincible, the match started at the Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg in South Africa, these are the players:

Brazil Chile
1 Julio Cesar 1 Claudio Bravo
2 Maicon 2 Ismael Fuentes
3 Lucio 4 Mauricio Islas
4 Juan 5 Pablo Contreras
6 Michel Bastos 6 Carlos Carmona
8 Gilberto Silva 7 Alexis Sanchez
9 Luis Fabiano 8 Arturo Vidal
10 Kaka 9 Humberto Suazo
11 Robinho 11 Mark Gomez
13 Dani Alves 15 Jean Beasejour
18 Ramirez 18 Gonzalo Jara
Coach: Dunga Coach: Marcelo Bielsa

The first threat came from Chile who shot some dangerous kicks and their coach Bielsa aka,  “El Loco” couldn’t believe they missed and sent his players to attack. When at first it seemed they were just defending and when they left those spots clear Brazil didn’t waste any time and attacked!!

The first goal came by Juan at the 35th minute putting the score board Brazil 1 Chile 0. Just 3 minutes later Fabiano scored their second goal at the second half it was the great! Robinho, who fired a killing shot that went directly into Blanco’s zone, the match ended 3-0, great match for Brazil and for Chile as well, but Coach Dunga couldn’t help but worry about the yellow card his star Kaka got at the 81st minute, this could get them in trouble.

Maybe Brazil won and they played great, but I have to say that Chile played fantastic as well and they will leave South Africa with pride. Brazil’s next match is on Friday at Port Elizabeth at the quarterfinals and will be against Netherland, who defeated Slovakia this morning. What do you think of the match between Brazil vs. Chile? Don’t you think Chile was quite a contender for Brazil? Take a look at the photos and video below.
