One of the best teams in the world, Spain didn’t quite do what the fans expected from them. Today against Honduras they were hoping not to disappointed them anymore. Did they make it? Find out here plus check out the photos and video below.
Spain’s first game was a shameful loss against Switzerland, and Honduras had the same luck against Chile. If either of them lost again they might be saying goodbye to this 2010 World in South Africa.
But Spain was not about to risk it and they proved that today. Honduras was about to experience the magic kick of Barcelona’s David Villa.
David Villa marked their first goal on the score board in the 17th minute when he threw a powerful kick. Even though he was heavily tackled. He did it once more at the 51st minute, setting the score to 2-0. Honduras tried to keep Iker Casillas awake by sending a few dangerous kicks, but it wasn’t good enough to change the score.
Honduras was becoming nervous and impatient as the minutes passed and they began to play rough. One of the unlucky players who experienced Honduras’ dirty game was Gerard Pique, who ended the last game with a cut on his face. Today he got kicked in his manhood, which left him clearly in pain for a few minutes. He later received a kick in the mouth and ended up spitting blood. Honduras’s Izaguirre cut down on the Jesus Nanas’ foot, which was obviously pointed as a penalty shot. Guess who was the man in responsible for the shot? None other than Villa. He fooled the goalkeeper, but also missed the penalty shot.
Here are the Players of Group H who took to the field at the Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.
