With the World Cup about to start, singers from all over the world arrived in South Africa to give fans a little taste of the 2010 World cup Kick-Off Concert. Keep reading to know all the details from this news plus check out the photos and cool videos below.
South Africa opened the doors of their Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg where millions of fans from all over the world gathered to hear the best sounds of the 2010 World Cup.
Some of the globe’s best singers cheered fans from 8:00 p.m local time till midnight with their fabulous songs and dances, some of these performers included the Soweto Gospel Choir, The Parlotones, Tinariwen, Vieux Farka Toure, Vusi Mahlasela, Angelique Kidjo, Amadou Mariam, Black Eyed Peas, Blk Jks, Freshlyground, Hugh Masekela, John Legend, Juanes, K’Naan, Mzansi Youth Choir and certainly the singer responsible for the World Cup Theme song, whose hips don’t lie the beautiful Colombian Shakira.
Maybe you don’t know but Shakira’s wardrobe was designed by Roberto Cavalli, Shakira was joined by her fellow Colombian singer Juanes who wore a distinctive South African themed jacket and with the sound of his guitar performed Yerbatero.
But Shakira was not the only stunning lady on the list of foreign performers, the beautiful Alicia Keys dazzled with a great outfit and strong voice and performed Empire State of Mind and one of my favorites, No One.
The Black Eyed Peas arrived with all of their love and surely they had the feeling South Africa would enjoy and sang at the rhythm of their contagious beat and you know what? Spectators did!
But the crowd went wild when they heard the sound of their beloved local performers Jazz singer Hugh Masekela and the Soweto choir and the rest of the African performers that joined forces in this amazing 2010 World Cup Kick-Off concert that raised money for charity.
