As the race began all eyes were on those horses whose odds were more favorable, that was the case with Ice Box (3-1), as the horse was the most likely to win, so was Fly Down (9-2) both horses trained by Nick Zito who was looking forward to taking his 3rd Belmont win. Another horse that qualified as a favorite was First Dude (7-2), but nobody thought that the colt named Drosselmeyer (12-10) would go near the finish line even less to win, but faith had another plan for the beautiful three year old colt.

Drosselmeyer was ridden not by just anyone – his trainer Mike Smith is a Hall of Famer and his breeder WinStar farm (Bill Casner and Kenny Troutt) takes home their second title in the Triple Crown (they own Super Saver, Derby Winner). Drosselmeyer is a three year old Chestnut colt like his father Distorted humor (winner of Churchill Stakes and Commonwealth Breeders’ Cup Stakes in 98).  Here are the final results of the 2010 Belmont Stakes.
