Have you met Carrie Mae Stoudemire? She is Phoenix Suns’ Amar’e Stoudemire’s mother. Keep reading to know more about her plus check out Carrie Mae Stoudemire’s photos and video below.
For Amar’e Stoudemire, childhood was not easy at all. His father died when he was just twelve years old and his mother Carrie Mae Stoudemire was paying more visits to jail than she wanted to. But for the Phoenix Suns super tall player, his mother meant the world to him as he was committed to take care of his troubled mom.
For quite some time the Suns have witnessed how Carrie Mae’s legal problems have affected the personal and professional life of the player, sometimes he would have to miss practices to take care of his mother, who since 2006 have been giving us news about her encounters with the law. That included alleged DUI, theft and even prostitution.
After her husband passed away, Carrie got married again to Artis Wilson, they divorced some time later, she later moved to Phoenix, Arizona so she could be close to her son. Before that she lived in Florida, now in Phoenix she was settled in her new house and brand new car and with a job as her son’s CEO in Amar’e Enterprises already waiting for her.
But her legal problems were always by her side, she has been maybe one of the few women over 50 that has been arrested more times, over 24 times. And so her legal problems in a new state started on February 23, 2003 when she was pulled over by the Phoenix police when she was doing some crazy lane changes and weaving.
But the surprise was bigger when the police discovered an alleged noticeable drunk, 50 something female driving with a minor, her 14 year old was with her, and she was charged with two DUI felonies. In September 2003 she was sentenced to five years probation and 10 days in jail, where she couldn’t leave the state, have to take drug test sporadically and install an interlock device in her car.( this device won’t let anyone start their car if your breath shows any alcohol level)
But just 10 months after that she was in trouble again, this time Neiman Marcus was involved as Carrie Mae tried to shoplift over $1000 in merchandise, for this on Feb. 2005 she was sentenced to ten days in jail, but then the police got suspicious and started to investigate her, just to find out that she she had failed all that she was asked as part of her five year probation, add to that she was driving with a suspended driver’s license. On October 14, 2005 for failing her probation she was sentenced to thirty days in jail starting February 2006.
But just 6 days after her sentence she was in trouble again when she crashed into a construction barricade. When police asked her for her identity she said her name was April Harris, she was charged with DUI and giving false identification that she had allegedly taken from a friend to take her driver’s license again, and you know what this wasn’t the first time she used a false identity, she has named herself from Mar Williams to Gwendolyn Hayes and Carrie Wilson.
Carrie, 50 at the time she was taken into arrest at the county jail on October 21 where she was set to remain until February and later sent to the Drug and alcohol rehabilitation center Meadows.
And so it was on February 24 she was at Meadows but just three weeks later she left arguing that she felt unhappy, so the court sent her to Journey at Sundance where she was to wear an electronic monitoring device to keep her under their watch at all times.
Now she is in trouble once again as she was pulled over on Saturday May 15th, 2010 at 3:15 p.m after police saw her speeding and couldn’t stay in one lane, when they stopped her black Lincoln Navigator she was identified on her driver’s license as 54 year old Carrie Mae Stoudemire, but one detail was missing the interlock device requires to be in her vehicle until October was not there.
Police said that her eyes allegedly looked glassy and watery, so they were taking her into arrest. When Amar’e showed up, the problem was that when she saw him she began to yell and throwing kicks at the car, so the Scottsdale officer asked Amar’e to leave and he did. in the interview video below you’ll see how she said that the Breathalyzer showed no traces of alcohol , that the Lincoln was rented, the interlock was in all of her other cars and that she was a victim of harassment.
Amar’e Stoudemire’s Mother was arrested and later released but now news about her being sentenced to three years in jail has been released. Take a look at Carrie Mae Stoudemire’s pictures and video below.
